Schools That Can builds an education-to-employment pathway that closes the opportunity and skills gap.

STC Engages Middle School and High Schools Students In Education

About Schools That Can

Schools That Can builds an education to employment pathway through career readiness programming that’s culturally relevant, youth-centered, and prioritizes real-world experiences and connections.

Through our 6 unit career readiness curriculum that builds into the school day and works in collaboration with teachers, students develop hands-on skills needed to thrive wherever their postsecondary pathway takes them.

WHERE WE WORK

Why an Education to Employment (e2e) Pathway®?

Career readiness and employment are social justice issues

Because career readiness and employment are social justice issues:

Our programming offers students in low-income areas social capital, networking opportunities, and entry points to career paths.

students need work exposure

Because students need work exposure to choose their futures:

Over 80% of students in STC’s Career Readiness program rated the experience as helpful in exploring their career interests.

Parents want their students to have more options

Because parents want their students to have more options:

Half of parents of high schoolers say they want to know more about alternatives to 4-year college, but lack information on those pathways.

67%

of students have no experience or knowledge of job search tools, according to STC student surveys.

52%

of students have never participated in a job interview, according to STC student surveys.

77%

of students say they have no clear plan after high school, according to STC student surveys.
