Logos Academy To Benefit from Community Garden Along With Other York Schools

The remains of a vacant plot in the city of York will become a community garden and a learning lab for students. Organizers are planning to possibly make the garden serve as an outdoor classroom for students to learn about nature, plants and gardening. Anne Clark, the community outreach specialist for Lincoln and Helen Thackston charter schools and supporter of the project spoke with the city to start creating the garden. She then spread the message of the garden and help started to pour in. Members of the Grace Fellowship Church Shrewsbury contented to aid in building benches, tables and a pavilion while First Fruits Farms Inc. of Freeland, MD will get the area ready for planting. Logos Academy will be able to access the garden with other schools like Lincoln, New Hope and Thackston Academy along with the School District of the City of York.
