The students of St. Philip's Academy definitely have health on the mind. As a part of the EcoSpaces Program, they learn about the concepts of wellness and sustainability through a mixture of learning environments as well as tackle the problems of unhealthy kids living in an unhealthy planet.
The program has a 4,600 sqf rooftop garden, an urban farming lab, an EcoArt studio, a teaching kitchen, an outdoor turf and a Dining Room for teachers to educate the students in regular grade level curriculum while also emphasizing on health and environmental practices. Among many other creative recipes, they've made their own homemade ketchup when they couldn't find ketchup without high fructose syrup.
